There are over 400,000 children living without permanent families in the U.S. and most of those children will wait over 3 years to be adopted. 

Over half of these children will endure more than 3 different placements and 1/3 of these children will change elementary schools at least 5 times. 

No matter how you look at it, there is an abundance of children who are displaced and wounded from the constant trauma of broken relationships. 

While the best thing a person can do is become a caring foster parent for these kids, we here at 8 Bit Kingdom want to help as well. That’s why we started Reforge. 

Reforge is a program that collects new and used video games and consoles to donate to children in foster care. Any donations are passed along to licensed social workers who may use the games and systems to help provide a sense of joy for children amidst the turmoil around them. The games are also donated to foster families in order to help create an easy and fun way for these new families to connect.
