Game

At 8BitKingdom we love to game, but we also love to think.

Why are we all here? Is there a God in the universe or are we a miraculous accident? Who decides what’s right and wrong? Is there a universal ethic that unites humanity or are ethics merely a societal construct which may ebb and flow over time? If God is all powerful, could he make a burrito that’s too hot for him to eat? These are the questions that keep us up at night.

We all know that games can give us insight into life that other mediums simply can’t. We can boot up games today that take us from ancient rome to the battlefields of Normandy to the space epics of a future time, all within the amount of time it takes to read this post. So if games can take us all of these places, why can’t they also take us on the journey to discover more about ourselves? To confront some of these questions head on and learn what it means to be a human on this blue orb. It’s in the vain of that pursuit that we have been diligently working on “Through the Vale”a multifaceted living text game over the past 5 years, with a targeted release date of Winter 2023. We’ve still got more work to do before the game is complete, but if you would like to add your thoughts and musings on life to the game, please check out the contribute page. We’ll keep you all updated as work continues and as always, feel free to contact us with any questions.
